FAQ
Here are some of our most asked questions. If you can’t find what you need, email hello@fanova.me.
What is Fanova?
Fanova is a marketplace where fans support creators with custom video and image commissions, paid Q&A, and related requests. Creators publish a page, set offerings and prices, and fulfill orders from one dashboard.
Who uses Fanova?
Anyone with an audience — illustrators, streamers, musicians, writers, educators, cosplayers, and more. If fans want to request custom work or ask paid questions, Fanova gives you a simple place to take those orders.
How do fans pay?
Fans check out with Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where Stripe supports them. Guests can order with just an email — no account required upfront — and are signed in after a successful payment to track their commission.
How do I get paid?
Connect a Stripe Express account from your creator payouts page. When Connect is ready, new orders can charge directly to your Express balance (minus the platform fee), and Stripe pays out to your bank on its usual schedule for your country.
Earnings from earlier or held-balance orders can also be withdrawn from your available balance once Stripe onboarding is complete and you meet the minimum payout amount shown on that page.
Is there a fee to use Fanova?
There is no monthly subscription. Creating a page, publishing offerings, and using the studio tools is free. We only earn when you do.
On each successful payment we take a 20% platform fee. Creators keep 80% of the sale amount before payment processing.
Separately, Stripe charges payment processing fees (typically about 2.9% + $0.30 per successful card payment in USD). Those fees go to Stripe, not to Fanova. Extra Stripe fees can apply for international cards or certain payment methods.
How are platform fees and Stripe fees calculated?
Think of each order in three parts:
- Gross — what the fan pays for the offering
- Platform fee — 20% of the gross, collected by Fanova (as a Stripe application fee on Connect checkouts)
- Stripe processing — roughly 2.9% of the gross plus $0.30, paid to Stripe for processing the card
Your net is approximately: gross − platform fee − Stripe processing.
Example: $10.00 order
- Fan pays $10.00
- Platform fee (20%) −$2.00
- Est. Stripe processing −$0.59
- You keep (approx.) $7.41
Estimates use our configured processing rate (2.9% + $0.30). Actual Stripe fees depend on card country, currency, and payment method. Your dashboard shows fees per order after checkout.
Who pays the Stripe fee — me or the fan?
Today, Stripe’s processing cost comes out of the creator’s side of the payment. The fan pays the listed offering price; after the platform fee and Stripe’s fee, the remainder is yours.
Is Fanova safe?
We take security seriously. Card details are never stored on our servers — payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1). Connections use HTTPS, and account access is protected with standard authentication practices.
Do I own my supporters?
Yes. Your fans and orders are yours. We don’t sell supporter data or lock you into ads on your page. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle information.
How is this different from other creator tools?
Fanova focuses on paid custom requests — video and image commissions with a clear intake form, status queue, and messaging — plus Stripe payouts in one place. You’re not stitching together a tip jar, a form tool, and a separate invoice app.
Where can I read the legal fine print?
See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
